I have always painted energy in one medium or another, it was the underlying framework for all my artwork. This energy directed the construction of the painting, it pulled me in directions I did not realize I was taking. Every artwork became a new journey to a new place I was about to discover.

Energy Patterns

Based upon the Kabbalah, the Mystical side of the Jewish religion. I was not a religious person. My friend Penny came to me in my studio in Shelton, CT with a giant black and white coloring book, with no color on its pages. As I looked through the book, I realized the information enclosed involved all the disciplines I had studied at one time or another: Astrology, Numerology, Color Theory through Paint, Color Theory through Light and Gemstones. Kabbalah, which means to receive, seemed to help organize all these disciplines I had been interested in my whole life. They seemed responsive to each other as well.

I started my study of Kabbalah and have been happy with the journey it has taken me on. The first painting was done after I moved into an apartment and noticed that the angle of the entrance floor reminded me of Jacob's Ladder, this is a path of energy. It is a map of one's energy. That is what I connected with. As a painter, I have always painted energy in one form or another. It was the framework I felt inside the canvas. Every time I started a new image or structure. This energy directed the construction of the piece, it pulled me in directions I did not realize I was taking. Every painting became a journey to a new place I had not been to before and wanted to discover.
